Counseling Background- Alina Grimsted LCSW

I am the owner of Poscimur Counseling, LLC. and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Gresham, Oregon. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University and a Certificate in Advanced Clinical Supervision from PESI.

My experience includes working with adults adolescents, and children in schools, home therapy, and outpatient mental health.

I believe in the importance of human relationships and in the dignity and worth of the person. Every client is treated as an individual and I focus on establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. I believe in each person’s ability to grow and change. I offer a humanistic approach to therapy. I build relationships with my clients that cultivates authenticity. Through the relationship, grounded in empathy and compassion, I establish a safe and comfortable environment allowing for honest, genuine feedback. I am supportive and directive, while working collaboratively with the client to target issues, minimize symptoms, increase overall wellness, and improve self-understanding.

Trained in a variety of approaches, I incorporate many of them into my treatment based on the individual. My training and experience includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), bi-lateral stimulation, Couples Therapy, Hypnosis, CBT, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Supervision Philosophy & Approach

Using my social work values and an interpersonal approach, I incorporate administrative, educational, and supportive functions into supervision. I strive to foster a sustainable balance that supports our collaborative work. Supervision is an interactive, dynamic process that strengthens client care, refines clinical skills, and promotes ongoing professional growth.
